Which school is better for internships, University of Georgia or Penn State?

Penn State has the edge for internships. Its scale, employer network, and built-in career infrastructure tend to create more volume and variety in internship recruiting, especially for business, engineering, supply chain, IT, and other large-employer pipelines.

One concrete differentiator is employer presence on campus. Penn State draws a very large number of recruiters to career fairs and industry-specific events, and many companies already have established internship pipelines there.

Another difference is how geographically broad the recruiting tends to be. UGA has strong access to Atlanta and the Southeast, which is valuable, but Penn State’s reach is often more national because of its alumni base and long-standing relationships with employers across multiple regions.

Support systems also tilt slightly toward Penn State. Both schools have solid career centers, but Penn State’s size means more specialized resources by college, more employer events, and more internship-focused programming. UGA is by no means weak here, and for students targeting media, public affairs, nonprofit work, or certain business roles tied closely to Atlanta, it can be very effective.

For pure internship access and employer connectivity across a broad set of majors, Penn State comes out ahead. UGA is still a strong option, but its advantage is more concentrated in Georgia and nearby markets rather than the same level of national recruiting volume.
