For internships and recruiting access overall, Fordham usually has the clearer edge if you want frequent, in-semester access to employers, especially in finance, business, media, communications, nonprofits, and many New York-based corporate roles. Its biggest advantage is being in New York City, where students can intern during the academic year and build connections while classes are in session.

That said, Pitt can be excellent for a student whose interests line up with healthcare, research, public health, engineering, biotech, or hospital-based work. Pittsburgh gives Pitt students strong access to major medical and research institutions, and the university’s ties to UPMC and related health and science employers are a real asset. For someone aiming at clinical, lab, science, or tech-adjacent internships, Pitt’s network is often more directly useful than Fordham’s.

If you are the kind of student who wants a campus with strong built-in employer relationships and you plan to actively chase internships from your first year, Fordham’s setup is hard to ignore. Being in NYC makes informational interviews, part-time internships, and semester-long work experiences much more realistic.

Pitt may feel more supportive if you want a traditional campus experience while still having solid career resources and access to employers in a city with important medical, education, and technology sectors.
