How does the social scene at University of Miami compare to Boston University?

University of Miami usually feels more socially centralized and outwardly lively than Boston University. Miami has a traditional residential campus in Coral Gables, a stronger school-spirit atmosphere around sports, and a weekend culture that often revolves around campus events, Greek life, and going out. Boston University is social too, but its vibe is more spread out because the campus runs through the city, students are often busy with internships or off-campus plans, and weekends can feel less centered on one shared scene.

One of the biggest differences is campus layout. At Miami, more students live and socialize in the same contained environment, so it can be easier to keep running into the same people and build momentum with a friend group early. At BU, the campus is integrated into Boston, which gives you a lot to do but can make social life feel more independent and less automatic.

The weekend atmosphere also tends to diverge. Miami has more of a visible "college social scene," with football season, warm weather, pool and beach culture nearby, and a stronger sense that students are looking for group plans. BU students absolutely go out and have active social lives, but many spend weekends dispersed across Boston neighborhoods, restaurants, internships, club activities, or smaller friend circles rather than plugging into one dominant campus-wide scene.

In terms of personality, Miami often comes across as more extroverted and image-conscious, while BU can feel more academically driven, urban, and self-directed.
