Is Ohio State or Baylor better for finance majors?

Ohio State gives finance majors access to a much larger recruiting ecosystem, a bigger alumni base, and more volume in internships and employer connections, while Baylor offers a smaller, more relationship-driven environment where it may be easier to stand out and build close faculty ties.

For finance specifically, Ohio State has the stronger overall platform. Fisher is well known, Columbus is a major and growing business market, and the size of the university creates more student organizations, finance-related programs, and on-campus recruiting activity. That matters if your goal is maximizing exposure to internships, networking, and different finance paths early on.

Baylor can still work very well, especially for students who want a more contained campus culture and a school where advising and mentoring may feel more personal. Its business school is respected, and students can do well from Baylor, particularly in Texas.

Location also helps Ohio State. Columbus has strong internship access during the school year, and the Buckeye alumni network is enormous. In finance, that kind of scale often translates into more informational interviews, more leads, and more chances to recover if one internship cycle does not go perfectly.

If the question is strictly which school gives a finance major the stronger runway into internships and jobs, I would pick Ohio State. Baylor becomes more compelling if you strongly prefer its campus environment, size, or culture and are comfortable being more intentional about building finance opportunities yourself.
