When are Dartmouth Early Decision results released?

I'm applying to Dartmouth as my top choice this year and chose Early Decision. I'm honestly so anxious because I haven't been able to find a clear answer about when decisions will actually come out.

Does anyone know the official date or even an estimate for when Dartmouth ED results are usually released? I've seen conflicting info online and on their website it just says 'mid-December' but that's pretty vague. If you were an applicant in previous years, could you share what date you got your decision?

It would help so much to hear from someone who has gone through this process before so I can prepare myself (and obsessively refresh my portal at the right time).

Dartmouth typically releases its Early Decision (ED) results in mid-December, and while the college never sets an exact date far in advance, you can usually expect decisions to be released between December 10th and December 15th. For example, in recent years, results have dropped on December 10th, 11th, or 13th, usually at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm Eastern Time. In 2023, applicants saw their decisions posted on December 14th at around 4:00 pm ET.

The school’s website intentionally stays vague, likely to avoid server overload or disappointment if there’s any technical delay. However, as you get into December, Dartmouth typically sends out an email 2-3 days before the release, confirming the date and time your portal will be updated, so be sure to check your email (including your spam or promotions folders) during that week.

When I was part of the process a couple of years ago, it was very similar. I received an email two days in advance with the specific date and login instructions. I spent a fair bit of time nervously refreshing the portal, but you won’t be left completely in the dark, as the official announcement really does come shortly before the actual release.

If you want to anticipate, plan for a date around December 13th as a general guideline, but keep an eye out for that confirmation message. And if you’re part of any group chats or Reddit threads, students often share when they receive the notification, which can help you know what to expect in real-time. Good luck—you’ll have your answer soon!
