South Carolina is especially known for strong football culture, students dressing in garnet and black, and a campus atmosphere where game days shape the whole week. ASU absolutely has spirit too, but because it is so large and spread across a broader, more diffuse student culture, the feeling can be less consistently centered on athletics.

If your definition of school spirit is students showing up loudly for football, strong traditions, and a campus identity that feels tightly tied to sports, South Carolina usually has the edge. Williams-Brice Stadium game days are a major part of student life, and the SEC environment tends to amplify that sense of pride and ritual. A lot of students pick up on that quickly, even outside athletics.

At ASU, the spirit is real, but it often feels more varied than singular.
