University of Miami makes more sense for someone who values location and a more intimate environment over scale. Miami’s business connections can be especially useful if you want to work in South Florida after graduation, and the city gives you access to firms, corporate offices, and networking during the school year. For a student interested in combining accounting with finance, real estate, or international business, that setting can be attractive in a way Purdue cannot really replicate.

For CPA preparation, either school can get you there, but Purdue is the safer pick if your priority is a widely recognized accounting path with strong employer visibility. I would lean Miami only if you know you want the South Florida market, strongly prefer the campus culture, or have a financial package that makes it clearly worth it. If costs are similar and your goal is pure accounting outcomes, Purdue has the clearer advantage.
