Which is better for warm weather on campus: Arizona State University or University of Central Florida?

The biggest practical tradeoff is dry desert heat at Arizona State versus humid subtropical heat at UCF. ASU in Tempe stays very warm for most of the academic year and has lots of sunny, rain-light days, but late spring and early fall can feel intensely hot in the afternoon. UCF in Orlando is also warm most of the year, yet the humidity, frequent rain, and stormy summers make walking outside feel stickier and less predictable day to day.

For pure warmth, both deliver it. The difference is comfort. Many students find ASU easier to manage because dry heat can feel more tolerable than Florida humidity, especially when you are moving between classes.

That said, ASU’s hottest stretches are more extreme. If you are on campus in August, September, or late April into May, Tempe can feel brutal in the middle of the day, even if mornings and evenings are better. UCF’s heat is rarely that dry-blast intense, but Orlando often feels muggy for long stretches, and being outside can mean sweating almost immediately even when the temperature itself does not look as severe.

If your goal is a campus that stays warm and also feels more consistently pleasant for walking, ASU has the edge for a lot of students because the air is drier and the weather is sunnier. If you strongly dislike extreme heat spikes and can tolerate humidity, UCF may feel easier at certain times of year. My pick for better warm-weather campus comfort overall would be ASU, with the caveat that its hottest days are harsher than UCF’s.
