The school name does matter some, and UC Berkeley’s name will usually carry more weight than Arizona State’s on a resume, especially for highly selective employers, certain graduate programs, and fields where brand recognition is strong. Berkeley has a much broader national and international reputation, a powerful alumni network, and more built-in signaling value if someone reviewing your resume knows little else about you.
