How does campus culture at CU Boulder compare to USC?

CU Boulder and USC can both feel lively and social, but the vibe is pretty different. CU Boulder has more of a classic big public university feel with strong school spirit, a visible outdoors culture, and a student body that often seems more laid-back day to day. USC feels more urban, more network-driven, and more overtly ambitious, with social life shaped by being in Los Angeles and by a campus culture that blends school pride with career energy.

CU Boulder tends to fit students who want a beautiful, self-contained campus and a social scene that extends beyond parties into hiking, skiing, rec sports, and just being outside. School spirit is real there, especially around athletics and campus traditions, but the atmosphere is usually less polished and less pre-professional than USC.
