What are the best places to eat around Harvard Square for students?
I'm going to be visiting Harvard soon, and my family and I are trying to figure out where we should grab lunch or dinner in the Harvard Square area.
Are there any favorite spots among current students there, or anything that's a 'must try' while we're in town? I'd love some suggestions for places that are both affordable and not too touristy if possible! We enjoy all kinds of food, so I'm open to any type of cuisine.
If anyone who's visited or goes to school nearby has recommendations, I'd really appreciate your advice! Trying to make the most out of this trip and get a sense of the student experience.

Harvard Square is packed with options, and a lot of students have their favorite spots for quick meals or casual dinners. If you're looking for something affordable and less touristy, there are several places that capture the student experience and the neighborhood vibe.
Felipe’s Taqueria is a go-to for many students. It serves fresh Mexican food, and the rooftop seating is a bonus if the weather’s nice. Their burritos, especially the carnitas, are popular. The lines can get long during meal times, but they move pretty fast.
Clover Food Lab offers vegetarian and vegan fare with lots of creative sandwiches and bowls. It’s a casual, counter-service place with a modern, minimalist feel and is super popular with students grabbing a quick lunch between classes.
Pinocchio’s Pizza, locally known as ‘Nochs,’ is another iconic student hangout, famous for its Sicilian slices. It’s a cozy, no-frills spot where you’ll probably see students grabbing a late meal after studying or hanging out at night.
For something a little different, head to Tasty Burger, which has a retro vibe and is casual, affordable, and open late. Great for burgers, fries, and shakes.
For quintessential late-night asian food, try Hong Kong. Known for their scorpion bowls and american-chinese classics. Its also right across from Lamont library, so its waiting for you with open arms after some late-night studying.
