Does Kevin O'Leary currently teach at Harvard?
I keep hearing different things about Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary being a professor or lecturer at Harvard, but I can't find anything official on the Harvard website. Has anyone here actually taken a class with him or know if he teaches any business courses there?
I'm really interested in entrepreneurship and thought it would be amazing to learn from someone like him. If he isn't a professor, does he do any guest lectures or special events at Harvard? Any info would be appreciated because I'm trying to figure out where I might get to learn from successful entrepreneurs during college!

Kevin O'Leary, known from Shark Tank, is not a professor, lecturer, or regular faculty member at Harvard. As of 2025, there are no business courses at Harvard officially taught by him, nor is he listed as a visiting professor or lecturer. While he has a well-known business background and is a frequent public speaker, he doesn't have an ongoing teaching role at Harvard Business School or any other division of Harvard University.
Every now and then, Harvard—like many top universities—invites well-known figures for special events, panels, or talks. Kevin O'Leary has appeared as a guest speaker at various conferences, business forums, and possibly school-sponsored events, which could be where the confusion comes from. For example, he was featured at the Harvard College Consulting Group's annual conference in 2017, but appearing for an event is different from actually teaching a class.
If you want to learn from successful entrepreneurs during college, keep an eye out for high-profile guest lectures or entrepreneurship events. Many major schools, including Harvard, do invite business leaders, founders, and investors to campus for talks or panel discussions even if they aren't formal instructors. Sometimes these events are open to all students; other times, you might need to be part of a specific club, class, or program. For example, Harvard hosts the annual 'Harvard Innovation Labs' speaker series, often featuring big names from the startup world—though not always Kevin O'Leary specifically.
If learning directly from people like O'Leary is a high priority, you could also look at colleges and business schools known for bringing in lots of entrepreneurial guest speakers, or for their strong ties to the business community. Always check college events calendars, entrepreneurship clubs, and business school news for the latest opportunities.
