Is Bottega University affiliated with Harvard in any way?

I came across Bottega University while looking for online degree options, and someone mentioned it having some kind of connection to Harvard. I'm a little confused about whether this is actually true or just a rumor. Is Bottega University actually part of Harvard, or does it offer any Harvard-certified programs or partnerships?

If anyone has gone to Bottega or knows more about it, could you let me know what the relationship (if any) is between the two schools? Doing my college searches has been really overwhelming so I just want to make sure I’ve got the right info before I start the application process.

Bottega University is not affiliated with Harvard University in any official or academic capacity. These two institutions are entirely separate entities. Bottega University is a private, accredited online university based in Utah that focuses on flexible programs, particularly in technology fields. Harvard University, on the other hand, is a world-renowned Ivy League institution located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with its own distinct set of degree programs and admissions processes.

There are no joint degrees, certifications, or formal partnerships between Bottega University and Harvard. Sometimes, marketing for online schools might reference Harvard in a general way—such as highlighting that some of their graduates went on to study at other top schools, or mentioning that they use curriculum standards inspired by leading universities—but this doesn’t create an official relationship.

It’s worth noting that Harvard does have some online educational resources (like Harvard Extension School and edX courses), but if a degree program or course is directly affiliated with Harvard, it will be clearly branded as such and hosted on official Harvard platforms or its established partners.

If you hear about any connection between Bottega and Harvard, it’s most likely just a rumor or a misunderstanding. Before applying anywhere, make sure to rely on information found on each school’s official website. For example, if a school claims a partnership or relationship with Harvard, that information should also be mentioned on Harvard’s website. In the case of Bottega and Harvard, there are no such mentions or official ties.

If you’re looking specifically for a Harvard-affiliated program, it might be helpful to look at Harvard Extension School or Harvard’s professional studies offerings. But for Bottega, you’d be enrolling in a separate institution that has crafted its own curricula and credentials.

Always good to check before making any decisions, especially with such a big step as applying to colleges.
