When are final grades due for UC Berkeley applicants?

I'm applying to UC Berkeley this year, and I'm trying to make sure my transcript is sent with all of my final grades. Does anyone know the exact deadline that UC Berkeley requires for receiving final senior year grades? My school finishes the semester a little later than some others, and I'm worried it might cause a problem.

If you've been through this before, can you share when you submitted your final grades, or if Berkeley was flexible at all with timing? I'm starting to stress out over whether late grades could impact my admission or enrollment.

For incoming first-year students at UC Berkeley, final official transcripts with senior year grades typically must be received by July 1st. This is the usual deadline for most UC campuses and is included in your admission offer letter. The deadline is strict because they need to verify your grades and make sure you still meet the admission requirements. If your high school operates on a later schedule, it's best to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as soon as possible to let them know about your situation.

They can sometimes grant an extension if your school finishes later than most, but you'll need documentation or a letter from your counselor explaining your school's calendar. For example, some students have provided an official note from their registrar confirming the later semester end and transcript mailing date, and Berkeley worked with them.

Missing the July 1 deadline without notification or communication can put your admission at risk, so definitely don't wait if you think your grades will be delayed. Even if your grades are sent close to the deadline, always request that your counselor upload or mail transcripts as soon as possible, and use tracking if mailing official documents. After submitting, check your CalCentral student portal to confirm the transcripts are received, and don't hesitate to call the admissions office for an update if needed.

In short: July 1 is the general cutoff, but communicate early if you expect any issues, and Berkeley can often be flexible if you’re proactive. Keeping your school counselor in the loop will help make sure all records are submitted on time, too.
