Is University of Richmond or Boston College more prestigious?

The biggest practical tradeoff is national name recognition versus a smaller, more regionally concentrated reputation. Boston College is more widely recognized across the country, especially because of its size, Division I sports presence, large alumni network, and visibility in places like the Northeast, finance, consulting, and some graduate-school circles. University of Richmond is very well regarded, but its reputation is more likely to be strongest among people who know selective liberal-arts-style schools or the Mid-Atlantic and South.
