Is the University of Richmond or Villanova more fun for college life?

For day to day college life, Villanova usually feels more energetic and socially busy, while the University of Richmond tends to feel more relaxed, contained, and lower-key. Villanova has a bigger sports presence, especially around basketball, and its Main Line location puts students close to Philadelphia. Richmond has a very attractive residential campus with strong school spirit too, but the social scene is often described as quieter and more campus-centered.

Villanova tends to appeal more to students who want a classic spirited college atmosphere with visible weekend activity, larger crowds at games, and easier access to off-campus restaurants, internships, and city outings. A lot of the fun there comes from the combination of campus traditions and being near Philly, so students who like having both school events and nearby urban options often find it lively. Its Catholic identity is part of campus culture, though many students experience the social environment as broad rather than restrictive.

Richmond fits students who enjoy a more intimate, polished, and less hectic social rhythm. The campus itself is one of the biggest draws, and a lot of student life happens through clubs, residence hall communities, and organized events rather than a constant big-game or big-party atmosphere. There is access to the city of Richmond, but it usually does not shape daily student life as strongly as Philadelphia does for Villanova.

So if by fun you mean higher energy, more visible school spirit, and more going on beyond campus, Villanova probably has the edge. If fun to you means a beautiful campus, close-knit community, and a social life that feels less intense and more manageable, Richmond can be a better experience.
