What is campus life like at Case Western vs Cornell?

The biggest day-to-day tradeoff is that Cornell feels like a more immersive, residential college world, while Case Western tends to feel more integrated with the city around it. Cornell has a larger, more traditional campus culture with a strong sense that students live in the Cornell bubble, especially because Ithaca is smaller and the campus itself dominates student life. Case Western, by contrast, sits in Cleveland’s University Circle, so students often mix campus life with museums, hospitals, restaurants, and other nearby city spaces.

At Cornell, the social scene is active but can also feel intense because the school is large, busy, and academically demanding. There are plenty of clubs, campus events, outdoor traditions, and a visible Greek life presence, and students often spend a lot of time on campus simply because of the setting. The campus is beautiful and distinct, but Ithaca can feel isolated, especially in the winter, so your social world often revolves around other students and campus organizations.
