Arizona State vs Oregon for business: which school is better for an undergraduate business degree?

The biggest practical tradeoff is scale and business-specific infrastructure at Arizona State versus the more traditional campus feel and tighter college-town environment at Oregon. For undergraduate business, ASU usually has the clearer edge because the W. P. Carey School of Business is a major, high-visibility part of the university, with broad recruiting pipelines, a large alumni base, and a wide menu of business majors and career programming. Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business is well regarded too, but ASU tends to feel more built out as a business destination.

For internships, ASU benefits a lot from being in the Phoenix metro area. You have access to a large and growing business market during the school year, not just in the summer, which makes part-time internships and networking more realistic. Oregon has opportunities too, especially through alumni connections and West Coast pathways, but Eugene is a smaller market, so students often need to be more intentional about reaching beyond the immediate area.

In terms of what the program feels like on campus, ASU can be more career-driven and corporate-facing, with lots of events, employer touchpoints, and students who are very internship-focused early. Oregon often feels more traditional and campus-centered, and some students prefer that balance if they want a classic college experience with business layered into it rather than dominating it.

If your main criteria are business reputation, breadth of program, and access to internships while in school, Arizona State is the stronger pick. Oregon becomes more compelling if you strongly prefer its campus culture and can see yourself taking fuller advantage of its environment, but purely for undergrad business outcomes and infrastructure, ASU comes out ahead.
