Eugene’s compact, bike-centered setting makes walking, cycling, and using local transit realistic parts of an ordinary class day, rather than sustainability choices that require extra planning. UO also integrates waste sorting and composting visibly across campus, so dining and event waste reduction are part of students’ regular habits.
