Case Western vs Virginia Tech for undergraduate research opportunities

I’m trying to compare these two schools mostly based on how easy it is to get involved in research as an undergrad. I’ve heard both have strong STEM programs, but I want to know which one tends to give students more access to labs, projects, and faculty mentorship.

I’m especially interested in what the research experience is like for a student who is proactive but not coming in with a ton of prior lab experience.

If your question is about the breadth of technical project areas inside a large research university, Virginia Tech can be very compelling.
