Is Villanova or Tulane more fun for undergraduate students?

The biggest practical tradeoff is campus-centered school spirit versus city-centered social life. Villanova’s fun tends to come from a very traditional campus experience, especially basketball culture, close-knit student life, and easy access to Philadelphia without the city fully defining the social scene. Tulane’s fun is more tied to New Orleans itself, where the food, music, festivals, and off-campus energy shape day-to-day life much more directly.

For a lot of undergrads, Tulane is perceived as the more outwardly lively and spontaneous option. The social atmosphere is often described as extroverted, active, and intertwined with the city, so weekends and even ordinary nights can feel eventful in a way that is hard to separate from New Orleans. That said, the party culture can feel more prominent there, which some students love and others find a little tiring.

Villanova is fun in a more contained and school-driven way. Big sports moments, organized campus traditions, and a polished suburban campus create a strong sense of community, and many students like that the social scene feels cohesive and easy to plug into. It can feel less adventurous than Tulane day to day, but also more structured and less dependent on going off campus to find excitement.

If the question is simply which one more often feels fun in the broad, social sense, Tulane probably has the edge because New Orleans gives it a built-in energy that few campuses can match. Villanova can absolutely be a great time, especially for someone who wants school spirit and a classic residential college atmosphere, but Tulane is more likely to be the one people describe as fun first.
