How does social life at Case Western compare to UMass Amherst?

The biggest practical difference is that UMass Amherst has a much larger, more active campus-wide social scene, while Case Western tends to be smaller, more contained, and more dependent on clubs, friend groups, and nearby Cleveland neighborhoods to create your social life. At UMass, the sheer size of the student body, the Five College setting, big campus events, and a more visible weekend atmosphere make it easier to find something happening. At Case Western, students absolutely make friends, but social life often feels quieter and more self-directed, especially early on.

At UMass Amherst, it is usually easier to meet lots of people quickly. There are more students, more residence hall activity, more school-spirit events, and a stronger sense that social life is happening out in the open.
