Is Fordham or Georgetown better for Wall Street recruiting?
I’m a high school senior trying to decide between Fordham and Georgetown, and I’m interested in finance/Wall Street recruiting. I know both schools have strong names, but I’m trying to understand which one gives students a better path into investment banking and related jobs.
I’m mostly looking at the school’s overall recruiting reputation, alumni network, and how strong the finance pipeline tends to be.

The biggest practical tradeoff is proximity versus pull: Fordham puts you in New York during the school year, which makes networking, internships, and informational coffees much easier, while Georgetown tends to carry stronger national prestige and a more powerful pipeline into elite finance recruiting. For Wall Street specifically, both can work, but they do not work in quite the same way. Fordham benefits from being right near the industry, and Georgetown benefits from having a brand and alumni network that often travel especially well across top firms.
If the question is strictly which school gives you the stronger Wall Street recruiting platform overall, Georgetown has the edge.
Fordham is still very real for Wall Street, particularly because of location. Being in New York means easier access to semester internships, alumni events, and in-person networking while classes are in session, which matters a lot in finance recruiting. At schools farther from Manhattan, students often have to be more deliberate about making those connections remotely or during breaks.
That said, being in New York does not automatically mean stronger placement at the most selective banking seats. Fordham can absolutely place students into banking, but the path may depend more on hustle, early networking, and standing out within the student body.
So if your decision is centered narrowly on the strongest overall Wall Street recruiting reputation, I would lean Georgetown. If you value direct access to New York and want to start building finance experience during the semester as early as possible, Fordham has a practical advantage that can be very meaningful.
