Case Western can absolutely be social too, but the atmosphere is more subdued and often feels more academically centered day to day.

One big difference is scale and energy. UCSD has a much larger undergraduate population and a residential college system that gives students smaller communities inside a big university. That setup tends to produce more events, more club options, and more ways to meet people beyond your immediate major. At Case Western, the student community is tighter and easier to get familiar with, but many students describe the social environment as quieter and more self-directed.
