William & Mary vs Fordham for New York internships

Fordham is the better option for getting New York City internships during college. The biggest reason is simple access: Fordham students can intern in the city during the semester, not just over the summer, and that makes a real difference in how many opportunities are practical to pursue. Its campuses in the Bronx and Manhattan also put students much closer to employers in finance, media, nonprofits, government, and corporate offices.

The semester-time internship advantage is hard to overstate. At William & Mary, you can absolutely land NYC internships, especially in the summer, but Williamsburg is far enough away that regular in-person internships in New York during the academic year are not realistic for most students. Fordham students can build experience earlier and more often because commuting to offices, networking events, and informational interviews is simply part of student life.

That said, William & Mary is still a strong school with loyal alumni, and for long-term outcomes it can absolutely place students in New York. But if your specific priority is getting NYC internships while you are still in college, Fordham gives you the more direct runway.
