Has UC Berkeley released their admissions decisions yet?

I’ve been refreshing my portal and email constantly but haven’t seen anything from UC Berkeley. I know some schools release decisions in waves, so I was wondering if anyone has heard anything? I applied as an EECS major for regular decision and I’m getting a little anxious since some of my friends have already gotten updates from other UCs.

Are decisions out for everyone at once, or do they trickle in depending on college/major? If you’ve received yours, could you mention what time and for what major? Just trying to get a sense of when I should be on the lookout so I can stop obsessively checking!

UC Berkeley typically releases its freshman regular decision admissions results all at once on a specific date, not in waves or by major. In recent years, decisions have generally come out in late March, often in the afternoon (Pacific Time). For example, in 2023, most applicants received an update in the portal on a set date around the third week of March; applicants were also notified by email when to check for updates.

Sometimes minor delays or technical issues cause the exact time to vary by a few minutes, but if you haven’t gotten an official update, it likely means decisions just aren’t out yet—not that your specific major or college is delayed. EECS, being a highly competitive major, follows the same timeline as other majors, so you won't receive your decision separately from most applicants.

You can usually find the latest official announcement on UC Berkeley’s admissions website or their social media channels. Many students check forums and group chats where release dates are shared, but the most accurate source is your CalCentral portal or your application email notifications.

A good strategy is to check your portal once a day, especially as late March approaches, rather than refreshing constantly. That way, you’ll see your decision as soon as it posts without adding more anxiety. If you hear from your friends about other UCs, keep in mind Berkeley generally releases after schools like UCLA or UC Davis, so a lag is completely normal.

When decisions do come out, you’ll see posts from students (like on Reddit or Discord) announcing their results, often including their major and the time they got their update—so you’ll know pretty quickly if the wave is rolling out. For now, try to focus on other priorities and hang tight! The finish line is in sight.
