Are UC Berkeley admission decisions out yet?
I've been constantly checking my portal and refreshing my email, but I haven't seen anything about my UC Berkeley decision. I've heard different dates from various people, and it's getting pretty stressful waiting for any sort of update.
Does anyone know if UC Berkeley has started releasing decisions this year? If so, are they rolling them out over a few days or is there a specific release date? I applied for Computer Science, if that makes any difference.
Any info from people who have already received their notifications or know the timeline would help a lot right now.

UC Berkeley typically releases freshman admission decisions for fall applicants in late March each year. For the 2023-2024 cycle, most applicants can expect to hear back around the third or fourth week of March. There usually isn’t a rolling admissions process for Berkeley’s freshman decisions—all decisions (whether accepted, waitlisted, or denied) are released at the same time via the applicant portal online. This timing does not usually vary based on major, so Computer Science applicants can expect to get their results at the same time as everyone else.
So far, for this year, there haven’t been any confirmed reports of decisions being released early or any change to the standard timeline. Sometimes, a small number of students may receive notifications for special programs or interviews earlier, but official admission decisions almost always come out in one batch.
An example from last year: Most applicants in 2023 got their decision on March 30th, all at the same time in the afternoon Pacific Time. Keep checking your UC Berkeley applicant portal and your email, but don’t worry if you haven’t heard anything yet. UC Berkeley usually announces on their admissions website or social media accounts a day or two before they release the decisions, so keeping an eye there is a good way to stay updated.
In summary, you haven’t missed anything! Decisions aren't out yet, but expect them near the end of March with everyone getting notified at once. Good luck waiting—it’s definitely a stressful time, but you should get a definitive answer soon.
