Another differentiator is the academic environment. Wake is known for smaller class settings and strong faculty accessibility, so the student-professor dynamic often feels more direct from the start. At UVA, that experience certainly exists, especially in upper-level courses and specific programs, but intro classes and advising can feel less personal simply because the school operates on a larger scale.

The campus setup also matters. Wake Forest has a more contained campus and a community vibe that often makes undergrads feel supported and visible. UVA has a distinctive undergraduate culture too, especially around the Lawn, residential life, and student organizations, but it comes with more independence and more effort required to carve out your smaller world within a much bigger institution.
