Cornell tends to fit students who want a fast-paced environment where classes can be large, expectations are high, and there is less cushioning if a course is especially difficult. In several Cornell colleges, intro and gateway classes are known for substantial weekly problem sets, competitive classmates, and grading that can feel less forgiving.
