Is UC Berkeley or Vassar more fun for undergraduates?

Vassar usually feels more cohesive on a day-to-day basis. Because it is smaller and more residential, students tend to run into the same people often, and campus traditions, performances, clubs, and casual hangouts can feel more central to student life. The social scene is often described as creative, quirky, and community-oriented rather than dominated by big sports culture or off-campus city options.

For “do students actually enjoy being on campus,” Vassar probably has the edge because more of the social energy is concentrated there. For sheer range of things to do, Berkeley has more. If your version of fun is constant motion, lots of choices, and a big public-university atmosphere, Berkeley will likely feel more exciting. If your version of fun is a tighter social fabric where campus itself is the weekend destination, Vassar is more likely to feel satisfying.
