Which is more fun for undergrads, NYU or Boston College?

For most students asking specifically about “fun” in the traditional undergraduate sense, Boston College usually feels more fun on campus, while NYU feels more fun if your idea of college life is being turned loose in a huge city. BC has a more contained campus, stronger school-spirit culture, and a more recognizable weekend social scene built around other students. NYU has endless things to do in Manhattan, but the experience is less centered on one campus community and can feel more independent, scattered, and self-directed.

Boston College tends to suit students who want a classic residential college atmosphere. There is real campus energy around sports, clubs, traditions, and just seeing the same people regularly. A lot of students describe the social environment as easier to plug into because people live and socialize in a more connected setting, and the campus itself gives you a built-in place to hang out.

NYU fits students who get excited by city life more than campus life. If fun means concerts, restaurants, internships, nightlife, museums, and constantly exploring different neighborhoods, NYU has an obvious advantage. But students often have to be more intentional there. Social life is not handed to you in the same way, and some undergrads find that the lack of a traditional campus makes it harder to get that unified college feeling.

Another difference is cost and pace of going out. At NYU, having fun in the city can be amazing, but it can also be expensive and tiring, and friends may be spread across dorms, apartments, and schedules. At BC, the social scene is usually more student-centered and easier to access spontaneously.
