Should I choose Northeastern or NYU for business?

NYU is the stronger pick for business if your main priority is the depth of the business program and the reach of its recruiting network. Stern has a more established reputation specifically in undergraduate business, it sits in the middle of New York’s finance and corporate market, and that translates into unusually dense access to internships during the school year. For overall business prestige and employer visibility, NYU has the edge.

Another difference is how career access happens. At NYU, being in Manhattan makes part-time internships and networking during the semester much more built into student life. Northeastern is excellent on the career side too, but its biggest advantage comes through co-op, which is more structured and longer-term. That can be fantastic for hands-on experience, but if you want frequent exposure to finance firms, investment banks, media companies, startups, and corporate offices while classes are in session, NYU has a more immediate pipeline.

The student experience also feels different in a way that matters for business students. Northeastern tends to offer a more traditional campus feel and a very practical, pre-professional culture centered on work experience. NYU is more integrated into the city, less campus-centered, and often feels faster-paced and more independent. For someone comparing business outcomes specifically, NYU usually gives more brand recognition in business circles, while Northeastern shines most through experiential learning and co-op rather than through the business school’s standalone reputation.
