The biggest practical tradeoff is regional strength versus national business-school brand. UT Dallas can be a very smart option if you want access to the Dallas-Fort Worth job market and a school with strong ties to Texas employers, especially in corporate, tech-adjacent, analytics, and finance roles. Indiana’s Kelley School of Business has the more established undergraduate business reputation overall and is more widely recognized by employers across different parts of the country.

For internships, UT Dallas benefits a lot from being in the Dallas area. Being close to a huge business hub can make semester internships and networking easier, especially if you want to work in Texas after graduation. Indiana still offers strong internship access through Kelley recruiting and alumni connections, but Bloomington is less of an immediate corporate location, so more of that process runs through formal recruiting rather than simple proximity.

On employer recognition, Kelley is the safer bet if you want broad portability. A Kelley degree tends to carry clearer national recognition in business circles, while UT Dallas is especially effective in Texas and nearby markets. That does not mean UT Dallas limits you to Texas, but Indiana gives you a wider built-in signal.
