Which is better for undergraduate research opportunities, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or Northwestern?
I’m trying to decide between UIUC and Northwestern, and research opportunities are a big factor for me. I want a school where undergrads can realistically get involved in research early and find faculty projects that are accessible.
I know both schools are strong academically, but I’m trying to understand which one tends to be better for a student who wants hands-on research experience as an undergraduate.

UIUC offers an enormous volume of research across engineering, computer science, physics, agriculture, and the sciences, so there are simply a lot of labs and projects to explore.
