LSU usually has the stronger traditional campus social scene, while Tulane has a more city-integrated social life. LSU’s size, SEC culture, and Baton Rouge campus setup create a more constant stream of student-centered events, tailgates, Greek activity, and big-school weekend energy. Tulane is very social too, but a lot of the fun extends beyond campus into New Orleans, so the vibe feels less centered on school itself.

At LSU, campus life is easier to plug into immediately because so much happens around the university community. Football weekends are a huge part of student culture, and even outside athletics, the scale of the student body means more clubs, more visible events, and more chances to meet people casually in dorms, student areas, and large gatherings. If what you mean by "fun" is an active, obvious, school-spirited environment, LSU has the edge.

Tulane stands out for variety. Students have access to a lively neighborhood around campus and to New Orleans itself, which gives weekends a lot of options beyond college parties or campus programming. That can feel exciting and distinctive, especially if you like concerts, restaurants, festivals, and a social scene that is not limited to other students. The tradeoff is that the social experience can feel more decentralized than LSU’s.

For day-to-day friend-making, LSU benefits from scale and repetition. You are surrounded by more students in a more self-contained campus setting, so it can be easier to keep running into people and build routines around campus traditions. Tulane tends to feel smaller and more intimate, which some students love, but it does not produce quite the same all-encompassing campus energy.

For campus life specifically, LSU comes out ahead. For a more urban, off-campus social experience with a lot of personality, Tulane is the more distinctive option.
