Fordham usually feels more socially active day to day, especially if you mean visible energy, easy access to things happening, and a campus atmosphere where it does not take much effort to find plans. The Rose Hill campus has a more traditional residential feel than many city schools, and students also have New York City right outside campus for food, events, internships, and off-campus hangouts. That combination tends to make the social scene feel fuller and more constant.

A big differentiator is scale and setting. Fordham’s location creates built-in activity even when the campus itself is quiet, so students often socialize both on campus and around the Bronx or Manhattan. Brandeis is in suburban Waltham, so the social scene leans more inward and campus-based, which can feel tight-knit but also less naturally busy.

Another difference is the social style. Brandeis often gets described as friendlier in a smaller, more intellectual, club-centered way, where people find their circle through organizations, dorm communities, and shared interests rather than through a constantly buzzing campus atmosphere. That can be a good match if you want social without a big party-school feel, but it may require a little more initiative to plug in.

Fordham also tends to offer more variety in how a student can be social on an average week. You can have residence hall events, student orgs, athletics, campus traditions, and then leave campus for the city without needing a major plan.
