Is UT Austin or the University of Washington better for data science?
I’m trying to narrow down my college list and both UT Austin and the University of Washington seem strong for data science. I’m mostly looking at which one would give me a better overall experience for studying data science, including academics and career preparation.

The biggest practical tradeoff is access: UT Austin gives you a broader, very strong tech and quantitative environment within a flagship university, while the University of Washington has especially direct proximity to major data-driven employers in Seattle and a data science ecosystem that feels closely tied to industry.
