Adelphi vs NYU for business: which is better for internships and job opportunities?
I’m trying to decide between Adelphi and NYU for business and I keep going back and forth. I know both have different reputations and campus experiences, but I’m mainly thinking about how each one helps students get internships and jobs after graduation.
I want to study business and eventually work in a corporate role, so I’m trying to understand which school would give me the stronger overall path into the business world.

For business internships and job opportunities, NYU usually offers the stronger path, especially if you want access to major corporate recruiting, finance-related internships, and a very large alumni network in New York City. Its business ecosystem is tightly connected to the city, and students often benefit from being near employers throughout the school year, not just in the summer.
NYU makes the most sense for someone who wants a fast-paced, highly career-oriented environment and is ready to take initiative in a competitive setting. Its location in Manhattan matters a lot here: students can pursue part-time internships during the semester, attend employer events frequently, and build connections across industries like consulting, marketing, media, tech, and finance.
Adelphi can still work well for a student who wants more personal support, smaller classes, and a campus experience that feels less intense. You may get more direct access to professors, advising, and leadership opportunities, which can help if you thrive when people know you well and can mentor you closely. For local or regional business opportunities, especially on Long Island and in the greater New York area, Adelphi can absolutely lead to solid internships and jobs.
The tradeoff is scale and reach. If your goal is simply to break into the business world and you are proactive, either school can get you there, but NYU gives you a wider runway and a stronger recruiting platform from the start.
If Adelphi is significantly more affordable, it can still be a smart option, but you would want to be very intentional about internships, networking, and using career services early.
