What is the campus life difference between Boston College and Ohio State?

The biggest day-to-day tradeoff is scale: Boston College feels more contained, residential, and community-centered, while Ohio State feels much larger, busier, and more high-energy. At BC, students tend to talk about a defined campus culture with strong school traditions, a classic campus feel, and a social scene that is active but less overwhelming. At Ohio State, the Big Ten atmosphere, and the sheer number of events, organizations, and people create a more constant sense of motion.

Boston College usually feels more cohesive because more of student life is concentrated around a campus community with a distinct identity. The Jesuit influence is noticeable more in the school’s values and tone than in daily pressure to be religious, and many students describe BC as having a polished, spirited, somewhat pre-professional atmosphere.
