Which is better for business, UNC or Michigan State?

I'm trying to narrow down my college list and both UNC and Michigan State are on it because I want to study business. I know they are different schools with different campuses and vibes, but I am mostly trying to understand which one tends to be stronger for business overall.

I am looking at them as a current high school student and want a simple comparison of their business reputation and opportunities.

For business overall, UNC tends to carry the stronger national reputation, especially through the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. It is especially appealing if you want a school that is widely recognized by recruiters, has a strong alumni network, and offers a more selective, academically intense business path. Michigan State is still a very solid option, though, and it can be especially attractive for a student who wants a large, well-resourced business college with lots of hands-on programs and a broad recruiting base.

UNC is a strong fit for the student who wants business in a place that feels more selective and a bit more brand-conscious in finance, consulting, and corporate recruiting. Kenan-Flagler has a very established reputation, and UNC’s location and alumni presence help with access to major East Coast job markets.

Michigan State makes a lot of sense for the student who wants a big-campus experience and a business program that is well known for scale, flexibility, and practical career preparation. The Eli Broad College of Business is respected, especially in areas like supply chain, accounting, and corporate business roles. MSU also benefits from a huge alumni network and strong employer ties, particularly in the Midwest, and some students like that it can feel a little less pressure-heavy than UNC while still offering strong outcomes.

If your question is purely about business strength and reputation, UNC usually gets the edge. If your question is which school may offer a more accessible, broad-based business experience with lots of opportunities inside a massive university, Michigan State deserves serious attention.
