Penn State vs Fordham for social life: which has the better overall student life?

For overall student life, Penn State usually offers the more built-in, all-encompassing campus community, while Fordham offers a more city-based social experience that depends more on how much you engage. At Penn State, a large residential campus, major school spirit, Big Ten sports, and a strong tradition of clubs and weekend events make it easy to meet people quickly. At Fordham, especially Rose Hill, there is definitely campus life, but a lot of the social energy is split between campus activities and New York City.

Penn State tends to fit the student who wants social life to come to them. There is almost always something happening on or near campus, whether that is club events, sporting events, Greek life, late-night activities, or just the fact that so many students are living in the same college town environment. That setup makes casual friendships easier because people are physically together all the time, and weekends usually feel active without needing much planning.
