The biggest practical tradeoff is big-school energy in a city at Arizona versus a more relaxed college-town atmosphere at Oregon State. Arizona tends to feel louder, more social, and more event-heavy day to day, with Tucson offering concerts, food, nightlife, and a strong sports culture tied to a large public university. Oregon State usually feels more low-key and outdoorsy, with Corvallis centered heavily on the campus and student community rather than a bigger surrounding city scene.

If by fun you mean lots of visible activity, football and basketball buzz, parties, warm weather, and more off-campus options, Arizona usually has the edge. The campus culture there is known for being lively, and it is easier to find something happening on a random weeknight or weekend without having to work very hard for it. Tucson also gives you more variety beyond campus, so the social scene does not depend entirely on student-run events.

Oregon State can still be very enjoyable, but the fun looks different. Corvallis is smaller and more contained, which some students love because it feels close-knit and easier to settle into. A lot of student life there revolves around campus events, clubs, friendships, and outdoor activities like hiking, rivers, and weekend trips, rather than a nonstop party or city atmosphere.

For a typical student focused mainly on day-to-day excitement and social energy, Arizona is more likely to feel fun in the obvious, immediate sense. Oregon State is often better for someone who wants a friendlier, calmer, more outdoors-driven experience where fun comes from community and lifestyle rather than constant buzz.
