That makes course planning, faculty recommendations, research, and hospital exposure much more straightforward for a future U.S. med school applicant.

UC San Diego fits someone who wants flexibility. You can major in biology, neuroscience, public health, or something outside science while still completing premed requirements, and that matters because U.S. med schools care about GPA across a broad college curriculum. UCSD also gives you easier access to the kinds of activities U.S. med schools expect to see, such as physician shadowing, clinical volunteering, patient-facing service, and lab research.
