Arizona State University vs University of Massachusetts Amherst for STEM: which is better for undergraduate STEM programs?

I’m trying to decide between Arizona State and UMass Amherst for a STEM major, and both seem like solid options on paper.

I want to choose the school that would give me the stronger overall undergrad STEM experience, especially for things like academics, research opportunities, and preparing for internships or grad school.

I would lean toward Arizona State instead if your STEM interests are more applied, engineering-driven, or tied to industry-facing experience and you like the idea of a very large university with a broad innovation network.
