One major differentiator is research. At Wellesley, biology students can tap into on-campus faculty work while also being close to biotech, medical, and university labs in the Boston area. That matters in biology because hands-on lab experience often shapes what you can do after graduation, whether that means PhD programs, pre-med, public health, or biotech. Colgate offers solid undergraduate science teaching, but its location does not provide the same density of nearby biology-related institutions.
