Which is harder to get into, Lehigh or Case Western?

The biggest practical difference is that Case Western Reserve usually draws a broader national and international applicant pool, while Lehigh’s admissions can feel a bit more shaped by institutional priorities like college/major interest and demonstrated fit. In plain terms, both are quite selective, but Case Western is often viewed as at least slightly harder to get into overall.

Case Western tends to attract a high volume of STEM-focused applicants, especially in engineering, pre-med, and science-heavy fields, which can raise the level of competition. Lehigh is also selective, especially for engineering and business-related paths, but it can be a little more applicant-by-applicant in how hard it feels because interest and academic fit matter a lot there.

For building a realistic college list, I would not treat either school as meaningfully safer than the other. They belong in a similar selectivity band, and small year-to-year shifts in applicant volume can make one look slightly harder than the other without changing the bigger picture much.

Case Western is usually considered a bit harder to get into overall, but the gap is not large enough that you should build your list around that difference alone. Treat both as reachy or at least high-target options unless your academic profile is clearly well above each school’s typical admitted range.
