Cornell tends to feel more isolated and more intense, with a beautiful but hillier campus in Ithaca and a setting that shapes student life much more around the university itself.

Northwestern fits students who want a campus that feels social, polished, and connected. A lot of undergrad life happens through student groups, performances, athletics, the lakefront, and events in Evanston or Chicago. The quarter system can make things busy, but the overall atmosphere is often described as energetic and outward-facing rather than remote.
