If you are asking only about prestige, Yale has the edge. Its name tends to travel more uniformly across regions and industries, and people often associate it with a smaller, highly selective undergraduate experience and a powerful alumni network. That matters most in situations where first impressions and institutional signaling carry weight, such as competitive internships, fellowships, and certain graduate-school pipelines.

UCLA still has major prestige, just in a different way.
