UCLA fits the student who is aiming at industries where Los Angeles is a real advantage and who is ready to hustle a bit more for access. The opportunities are real, but they may require more planning around traffic, housing, transportation, and scheduling than they would at BU.

For summer internships, both schools can open strong doors. UCLA may carry slightly more national pull in some fields because of its visibility and scale, and being in California can be a plus for students targeting West Coast careers.
