For a typical high school applicant, Georgia Tech is often a bit harder to get into overall, especially if you are applying for engineering, computer science, or another high-demand STEM major. Georgia Tech is very focused on academic strength in math and science, and many of its applicants are targeting a narrower set of highly competitive programs. UNC Chapel Hill is also very selective, but its applicant pool is broader across majors and academic interests.
